Stuarts Definitive (see below) Hewlett-Packard C (lack of players) Proposals ========= Stuarts Definitive to be asked to withdraw from the league Due to the special circumstances of Oracle and Microsoft asking to be promoted further up the leagues, it would have meant too many teams being present in Division 1. Since Stuarts have always treated as a special case in that they do not meet the Business league requirements in terms of player eligability, is was felt only fair to ask them to withdraw. Vote carried 25 - 3 (approx) Keeping Home & Away Fixtures Vote carried 20 - 1 on initial poll and ratified at meeting No need for division coordinators any more Vote carried Any rules / disputes should be directed to Andy Goodall (andyg@pwd.hp.com) or Jonathan George (jmg@pwd.hp.com) Keeping courts fees so that home and away team pay half each After some discussion it was agreed to keep this nominally the same, with both home and away teams contributing to the cost of the courts. Potential Rule Changes ====================== 2 up / 2 down With smaller divisions the aim at the end of each season will be to promote the top two teams in each division and relegate the bottom two teams. Sometimes it will not be possible to achieve this, but every effort will be made to adhere to this. Lateness On a couple of occasions last year players turned up after either the court time had expired or their opponents had already adjourned to the bar. This is obviously not ideal, however it isn't felt to be appropriate to add a specific rule to the rules, and it hoped that common sense will prevail. Competitions ============ No-one volunteered to run an individual or team competition during the 2000/2001 season Officers ======== The current committee members were allowed to continue in their posts Chairman - Jonathan George Treasurer / Results Coordinator - Andy Goodall Secretary - Gren Elliot Financials ========== The league currently has a balance of £360-84 to spend as the league would desire. This includes as yet unpaid subs from 3M A, 3M B, Courage, ICI Paints, Met Office, Nokia B, Oracle A/B, Prudential, TRL A/B Squash Night ============ Jonathan promised that he would attempt to arrange another squash night, with hopefully some professional squash players turning up and providing people with the opportunity to spend 15 minutes on court with them. This night would be in aid of charity. Sponsorship =========== Dunlop have agreed to continue to support the league, and have donated another couple of rackets and 2 dozen squash balls. British Open ============ Another potential way of spending the leagues money would be to organise a coach to travel up to the British Open in Birmingham. If anyone is interested please contact the committee. Any Other Ideas / Business ========================== If anyone has any other ideas about things to do and/or spend money on please let the committee know.
